From her humble beginnings in the church choir, Kerrie-Anne knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life singing her soul out. Channeling the influence of music legends Gladys Knight, Candi Staton and Shirley Caesar was how she swept the congregation into goose-bump inducing moments, resonating true emotion, raw talent and making a real human connection. Kicking off her UK music experience, at 14 years old Kerrie- Anne entered her self-written song into ‘Song Search 2002’ competition, hosted by the popular Premier Christian Radio. Out of over 10,000 applicants over the weeks she quickly grew as the favourite, swiping 2nd place in the grand finals at Westminster Abbey. Following on, she was humbled by an invitation to perform for Nelson Mandela at South Africa House in 2007 in London.
The subsequent years would see her performing at various notable charity and festive events throughout the city, for the likes of national and international dignitaries including Tony Blair, David Blunkett and Bishop Desmond Tutu. Refusing to limit her skills, Kerrie-Anne decided to relocate to very unexpected and unfamiliar surroundings; Dubai, in order to pursue a career in international teaching. This experience proved to be very beneficial for her professional and personal growth as a singer-songwriter, giving her the opportunity to work with esteemed musicians, DJ’s and music pioneers, including house music connoisseur, Frederick Stone. and Dubai Radio 2’s DJ Schooly, releasing house chart toppers ‘Keep on Lovin’ Me’ and ‘Believe’.
Demonstrating her love for crossing genres, Kerrie-Anne collaborated with various producers and musicians. Lending her soulful vocals and penmanship to the House music genre she recently gained notoriety with the summer hit single “On The Edge” by house producer, Josh Butler.
During her 5 year residency in Dubai, Kerrie-Anne took the live entertainment industry by storm. With her supreme vocals and exquisite performance skills in tow, she swiftly grew to be the most sought after singer in the region, particularly in the luxury events sector. As her passion to connect with people through her music grew, she began to develop her signature vocal style in reflection of her culture, environment and life experiences. As a result, her hybrid music style emerged, referencing the sounds of modern Indie artists such as James Bay, Hozier and The Script. Consciously aiming to create a new sound, she strikes delectable chords of power, soul with that touch of Indie edge- ‘Indie Soul’- as she defines it.
Wasting no time, and with a insatiable hunger to inspire people with her music, Kerrie Anne rapidly and steadfastly made an indelible mark in Dubai’s music scene, going on to perform in award-winning shows such as ‘Kalubela’ and at some of the most prestigious events and luxury venues in the Middle East. With the likes of ‘Pacha Ibiza Dubai’, ‘Formula 1’ and the renowned ‘Runway Dubai’ fashion show under her belt it was easy to see Kerrie-Anne blaze her way through the events scene with machine like stamina, building up a solid reputation for herself. In June 2015, Kerrie-Anne returned to England to introduce herself to the British public as a soul singer determined to take on bigger success. This desire to further her career saw her enter world famous entertainment show ‘The X Factor UK’, where she was mentored by music mogul Simon Cowell as one of his Semi-Finalists. Performing a heart-warming rendition of ‘Help’ by Tina Turner Kerrie Anne earned a 5000 strong standing ovation from the audience.
2017 saw Kerrie-Anne launching her Youtube channel and brand ‘Very Kerrie TV’- a slick and high end production insight into her life as an entertainer and entrepreneur. With it’s incorporation of music, stylised footage and character animation, ‘Very Kerrie TV’ is quickly rising as a front runner in entertainment vlogs.
Kerrie-Anne continues to perform throughout the world at private and corporate events, sharing her love for music with a wide ranging audience.
